2. The Sacred Wood: Yakusugi and Black Persimmon
We specialize in rare, ancient woods such as Yakusugi (cedar from the mystical Yakushima Island, often over 1,000 years old) and Kurogaki (rare Black Persimmon with ink-like patterns). Each piece of wood has its own “face” and “voice.” When you hold a Yakusugi pen, you are touching a millennium of Japanese history. The natural fragrance calms the mind, transporting you to a deep, ancient forest.

Many of our followers from overseas find peace in the sounds of our workshop. The rhythmic shaving of the lathe, the delicate drilling into hard ebony, and the final polishing of the wood grain. This is a form of “Work ASMR” that transcends language. No words are needed to appreciate the moment a rough block of wood transforms into a silky-smooth masterpiece.
